Pairing a calling button to a table

Connect a new Hesett table button and tie it to the right table.

Before you start

You should have the calling button in hand, the table number it will live on, and the serial number printed on the back of the device (it begins with BTN-).

Add the device

  1. 01Open Device Management from the sidebar.
  2. 02Switch to the Buttons tab at the top of the page.
  3. 03Press and hold the button for three seconds โ€” the dashboard detects it and a new card appears.
  4. 04Set the Name (for example "Table 4 Button"), Location ("Table 4") and confirm the Serial Number.

Confirm it is live

A freshly paired button shows the green ACTIVE pill at the top of its card. The Press Count starts at zero and Last Pressed is empty until the first guest tap.

Useful counters

  • Press Count is the lifetime taps on that button โ€” handy for spotting an over-used unit.
  • Total Presses in the header stats sums every button in the restaurant.
  • Click the chevron on a card to expand and see Device ID, Serial Number, Installation date and Admin Notes.

Reporting a damaged device

Flag a broken button or watch and request a replacement unit.

Mark it damaged

  1. 01In Device Management, find the device card (use the search box or filter by Buttons or Watches).
  2. 02Click the three-dot menu in the top right of the card.
  3. 03Choose Report Damaged.
  4. 04The status pill flips from green ACTIVE to red DAMAGED immediately.

Request a replacement

Once a device is in DAMAGED state, the same three-dot menu shows a Request Replacement option. Selecting it logs the request and Hesett ships a new unit. The old device stays in your list with the REPLACED pill once the new one is paired.

Leave notes for your team

When you expand a damaged card you can read the Admin Notes line โ€” for example "Water damage reported". Add context here so the next person seeing the card knows what happened.

Track the shipment

  • The orange View Orders button in the page header opens the hardware orders list with the status of every shipment.
  • The Damaged tile in the top stats row counts how many units are currently broken โ€” keep it at zero where you can.

Ordering more hardware

Buy extra calling buttons or staff smartwatches from the dashboard.

Open the order modal

  1. 01Go to Device Management.
  2. 02Click the green Order Hardware button in the top right.

Fill the form

Pick the device type โ€” Calling Button or Staff Smartwatch โ€” set the quantity, paste the shipping address and add any notes for the Hesett warehouse. If this is a replacement order, fill in the Reason field so it can be matched to the damaged unit.

Smartwatch tips

  • Each staff smartwatch is tied to one teammate via the Assigned To field โ€” write the person's first name (for example "John") so kitchen and floor staff can identify their own device.
  • Watches do not increment Press Count โ€” that counter only applies to calling buttons.

After you order

View Orders (the orange button next to Order Hardware) lists every shipment with its current status. New units appear in Device Management once you pair them on arrival.
