Adding a teammate

Invite a Manager, Waiter or Chef and pick the right role.

Roles at a glance

Hesett ships with four roles. Admin sees everything (Dashboard, Menu, Statement, Reservations, Orders, Payment Details, Notifications, Chat, QR Codes, Inventory, Team Management). Manager covers day-to-day operations (Dashboard, Menu, Orders, Reservations, Inventory). Waiter is service-floor only (Dashboard, Orders, Reservations). Chef is kitchen-only (Dashboard, Menu, Orders).

Send the invite

  1. 01Open Team Management from the left sidebar.
  2. 02Click the blue Add Member button in the top right of the header.
  3. 03Type the person's full name, then choose a role from the dropdown.
  4. 04Save. The new card appears in the grid with an Active pill.

What they see after they join

Privileges are assigned automatically based on the role you picked โ€” you do not toggle them one by one. The Privileges section on each member card shows the first three with a "+N more" chip if the role has more.

Editing or removing later

  • The pencil icon on a member card opens edit mode โ€” change the name or role at any time.
  • The red trash icon deletes the member. You will see a confirmation modal before the delete completes.
  • The Total Members, Active, Admins, Managers, Waiters and Chefs counters at the top update instantly.

Roles and what they unlock

A reference for which dashboard sections each role can open.

Admin

Full access. An Admin can open every section: Dashboard, Menu, Statement, Reservations, Orders, Payment Details, Notifications, Chat, QR Codes, Inventory and Team Management. Only Admins can reset another teammate's passcode (the orange Forgot Passcode icon shows only on Admin cards).

Manager

Runs the floor without touching finance or staff records. A Manager has Dashboard, Menu, Orders, Reservations and Inventory. They cannot open Statement, Payment Details or Team Management.

Waiter

Optimised for tablet use during service. A Waiter sees Dashboard, Orders and Reservations only. They cannot edit the menu or change stock levels.

Chef

Kitchen-focused. A Chef has Dashboard, Menu and Orders. They can update dish availability and mark tickets ready, but cannot see Reservations or Payment Details.

Changing a role

  • Click the pencil icon on a member card, change the role dropdown, and save โ€” privileges swap automatically.
  • Demoting an Admin removes their Forgot Passcode reset power, so keep at least one active Admin on the team.

Reading the Activity Log

Track logins, order changes and inventory edits per teammate.

Opening the log

  1. 01Go to Team Management.
  2. 02Click the orange Activity Log button at the top of the header.

What is recorded

Each row is a single action with the teammate name, action type, a free-text detail line, a timestamp and the IP address the action came from. The action types you will see are Login, Order Management, Reservation, Inventory, Team Management and Payment.

Investigating an incident

  • Failed sign-ins appear as a Login row with the detail "Failed login attempt - incorrect passcode" โ€” useful when a teammate is locked out.
  • Payment rows include the order ID and amount, so you can match a missing receipt back to the person who processed it.
  • Team Management rows record adds, edits and role changes โ€” review these after any staff turnover.

Scheduling shifts

The green Scheduling button next to Activity Log opens the shift planner. Pick the teammates, the date and the shift start and end times. Turn on Repeat Weekly to copy the same shift forward for several weeks at once.
